"We will bridge the gap between Bengalis and Assamese with Prag Cine Awards," Dr Sanjive Narain; Prosenjit and Rituparna to reach tomorrow, Zubeen already in Silchar

Ever since the announcement of Prag Cine Awards 2022 happening in Silchar, there is a loud buzz around the whole town. The erection of the stage for the award show is in the final stage and workers are going through last-minute detailing and quality checks. The organisers called for a press conference today to address the media about the highlights of the show.

The owner of Prag News and the man behind the event, Dr Sanjive Narain spoke to the media about various updates of tomorrow’s event at the DSA ground today. He said, “As promised earlier, so shall we deliver. The lineup of artists have either reached Silchar, or are on their way. Big Tollywood stars Prosenjit and Rituparna will reach Silchar tomorrow and will be a part of the event in the evening. Zubeen Garg has already reached Silchar. This year, we are all set with the objective to bridge the cultural gap between Assamese and Bengali. Silchar is an integral part of Assam and even the CM has applauded us for this step”.

Speaking about the highlights of the awards, Narain said, “Dr Moloya Goswami will be awarded ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for her contribution to Assamese Movies. She was also the first Assamese to get a National Award. ‘Global Icon Award’ will be conferred upon Seema Biswas, who popularised Assamese cinemas not only in India but on a global stage. The inauguration ceremony of the event will start with Dhamail, the folk dance form of the people of this valley. Students will get tickets at a 50% discounted price upon showing their valid student ID cards”.

The company aims to popularise Assamese Movies within Assam first. “People of this valley should watch Assamese movies and popularise it. Prag Cinema stands 20 years old today and our objective has been to promote our stars and movies from this state. After this event we expect this valley to produce and release movies in Assamese and Bengali within Assam”, Narain further added. Janit Bora, Seema Biswas, Prashanta Rajguru, Nishita Goswami, Rabi Shyam and others were also present at the press conference.
