"China Welcome India Go Back" slogan in Silchar; Police arrests Sushanto Rajbangshi
The man, who was seen raising slogans like “India Na Lagey” and “China Welcome India Go Back” was arrested by Cachar Police on Tuesday. Identified as Sushanta Rajbangshi, the protagonist in the video which went viral is a resident of Leburband area in Borkhola of Cachar District.
It is worth mentioning here that on Sunday afternoon under broad daylight right near the centre of Silchar town in Barak Valley, “China welcome India Go back” slogans were raised. A video has surfaced on social media and was also broadcast on local television channels, which features a young man saying “India Na Laagey” (We don’t need India) and “China welcome India go back”. While the vocal protester was not wearing any banner or bandana, the man standing right next to him had MYFA written on his forehead. The man on his right had a Gamusa wrapped on his neck.
The slogans irked many in Barak Valley and several organisations and individuals condemned it. The SP Cachar said the police is investigating the matter and will take action against those who are involved in raising such slogans.
As per sources, because of the pressure mounting from each and every corner, Sushanta Rajbangshi decided to surrender himself. He was produced in the Court on Tuesdau and the court ordered him custody and he is now behind bars in jail.

Assam Khilonjiya Jana Suraksha committee secretary as well as Manipuri youth front of Assam president S Herajit Singha, President of MYFA Laxmikant Sinha, Sushanta Rajbongshi of all Assam Koch Rajbongshi students Association, Rajiv Sinha of Vishnupriya Manipuri students organisation addressed a gathering at the end of the procession which started from Chengcoorie road and marched through Ramnagar – Tarapur- India Club- Rongpur and dismantled in Madhura bridge.
