Went to wash face in the river, 16-year-old Tarapur girl is missing since Friday

Tarapur Shiv Bari road residents are spending sleepless nights as a young girl has gone missing. As per available information, Puja Kar, a 16-year-old resident of the locality went to the river to wash her face as she does every day. That was the last time she was spotted.

“The incident took place on Friday morning and I was informed about the same in the evening. SDRF was also informed about the incident and they got into action immediately,” informed Jhalak Chakraborty, a former ward commissioner in Silchar Municipality.

He added that the SDRD jawans reached the spot on Friday evening itself but there was  a problem with their inflatable raft and therefore they could start the search operation.

“However, NDRF jawans continued the rescue operation on Saturday yet the could not trace the teenager,” informed Jhalak Chakraborty.

Puja Kar and her family stay at a rented apartment in Shiv Bari Road, Tarapur. The residents of the area are tensed and praying for a miracle.
