A fan park has been set up in Silchar to provide cricket-lovers a “like-never-before” experience during the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019.

The initiative of setting up the park, titled — “Silchar Fan Park”, has been taken by DSO Sports India, co-founded by Arnab Nath and Ravinder Kumar. The event is in collaboration with Silchar’s indigenous  YouTube channel — Travel Hungry Cooks (THC).

Speaking to Barak Bulletin on Saturday, Arnab Nath said the fan park, which is the first-of-its-kind in Silchar, will feature world cup matches every weekend. The idea is to provide a “like-never-before” experience to cricket lovers here, he said.

The fan park, set up at the District Sports Association (DSA) in Silchar, will start with the India-Pakistan match on Sunday. There are two categories of tickets available to watch matches in the fan park. The tickets’ prices (per match) are — Rs. 300 (with food) and Rs. 150 (without food), he said.

He shared that the park will also have attractions for music and entertainment lovers. Cultural events will be held during the matches’ innings breaks. Besides, the park will also have a variety of stalls by young entrepreneurs, he said.
