Youth dies in road accident at Sonabarighat after being hit by a bike

A youth died after being hit by a bike. The accident took place in Nathpara area of Sonabarighat at around 5 pm on Monday. The deceased youth Joy Kumar Goala aged 18 years is a resident of Hatikuri Grant located in Lakhipur Police Station area.

It has been known that Joy Kumar was going to Atal Basti on foot. A bike came at a high speed and hit him in Nathpara area due to which Joy Kumar got seriously injured. The bike rider was also injured in the accident and fell down. Joy Kumar was sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries after a while.

Locals said that after hitting Joy Kumar, the killer bike driver fell down and was slightly injured, but when the crowd gathered, he dropped the bike and ran away from the spot. The Police have confiscated the bike.
