Youth found hanging at a temple in Bhuban Pahar
The dead body of a youth was recovered under mysterious circumstances from a temple near Bhuban Mandir in Cachar district on Monday.
The deceased Ranijoy Tripura was a resident of a village under Lala constituency in Hailakandi district.
According to sources, the youth was found hanged inside a temple near Bhuban Pahar around 3pm this afternoon. Receiving the news, a team of police from Kachudaram reached the spot after which the body was sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem, sources said.
Another source said Ranijoy, who was around 20 years old, stayed at a house on rent at Link Road in Silchar. Ranijoy, who studied at a college in Silchar, had come to a village near Bhuban Pahar on Saturday after coming to know that he failed in the higher secondary examination, the source said.
Bhuvan Pahar, situated in the north-eastern state of Assam, is famous for a Shiva temple where thousands of people from various parts of the state visit during Maha Shivratri and Dol Purnima to worship Lord Shiva. The hill is situated around 50km from Silchar.
