Fake Gold Weighing 7.023 kg Seized in Silchar, One Arrested

Cachar Police have arrested one person and seized a large quantity of suspected fake gold during a raid in Silchar’s Alambagh area.

Acting on specific intelligence, a team of Cachar Police conducted an operation in Alambagh on Friday (July 10), where they recovered 112 pieces of suspected fake gold weighing a total of 7.023 kg. The seized items have been taken into police custody for further investigation.

The police also arrested Ashish Kumar Roy, a resident of Srikona in Cachar, for his alleged involvement in the case. He is currently being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.

A case has been registered, and police are continuing their probe to determine the source of the fake gold and whether a larger network is involved in its distribution. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
