The session court of Hailakandi today booked accused Jasimuddin Barbhuiya under IPC Sections 376 (rape) 302 (murder) along with Section 4 of POCSO Act (no less than seven years imprisonment extended to life term and fine).

The police tracked down the accused who was absconding for sometime.

The entire process of investigation, trial and conviction was conducted under the supervision of district police administration headed by Superintendent of Police, Mohneesh Mishra, IPS. Mishra was personally involved throughout the process.

Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Adil Khan congratulated Mishra and his team for the big success. “SP Mohneesh Mishra and his team delivered what we promised to the people of Hailakandi six months ago. This will reaffirm the faith of common people in our administration, police, judiciary and the entire criminal justice system,” quipped Khan.
