Mother Of Two Hacked To Death In Sribhumi for Refusing Illicit Affair; Stalker Arrested

A shocking incident occurred in the middle of Sunday night (August 10) at Mirzapur Mandapara village under the Badarpur Police Station of Sribhumi district. As per reports, a youth from nearby Sher-Alipur village broke into a house in Mandapara and attacked a mother of two with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot. The victim’s elderly mother was also seriously injured while trying to save her daughter.

The victim has been identified as Sajna Begum, wife of Bahar Uddin of Mandapara. According to locals, the attacker, Sabir Ahmed from Sher-Alipur, had been troubling Sajna for a long time. He allegedly called her repeatedly, expressed love proposals, and blackmailed her.

On the night of the incident, Sajna was sleeping with her two small sons when Sabir allegedly broke open the door and attacked her with a dagger. Her mother, Ranu Bibi, tried to protect her granddaughter but was also injured in the attack. Hearing her cries, villagers rushed towards the house, forcing the attacker to flee.

Badarpur Police reached the spot soon after being informed, recovered Sajna’s body, and sent it for post-mortem. They later arrested Sabir Ahmed and are continuing the investigation to find out more about the reasons behind the crime.

Speaking to the media, Bahar Uddin, the victim’s husband, said, “He wanted to have an illicit relationship with my wife. Now he has killed her because she refused. He did not even spare my mother-in-law. Fortunately, she is alive.”

From her bed, still injured and grieving, Ranu Bibi also named Sabir Ahmed as the man who attacked her and killed her daughter. “After dinner, I went to bed with my daughter and grandchildren. Suddenly, Sabir entered and attacked us,” she recalled.

The room where the attack happened still had bloodstains, and a blood trail could be seen leading outside.

Speaking to Barak Bulletin, SSP Sribhumi, Partha Pratim Das, said that the preliminary investigation suggests the motive behind the attack was “love” and the wish to have an illicit relationship. However, the full details and history of the relationship are still under investigation.
