Mysterious Death of Youth in Kalain: Body Found Inside Friend’s House Sparks Suspicion
A mysterious death in Cachar’s Kalain area raised suspicion after the body of a young man was found inside his friend’s house on Sunday (October 12). The deceased has been identified as Shahajan Beg, also known as Saju, a resident of Latimara village.
According to reports, Shahajan had stayed overnight at the house of his friend Junaid Ahmed, a betel nut trader, on Saturday. On Sunday morning, Shahajan’s lifeless body was found in one of the rooms under mysterious circumstances.
Junaid claimed that both of them had dinner together on Saturday night before going to sleep in separate rooms. The next morning, when Shahajan did not wake up, he allegedly broke open the door and found his friend dead.
However, Shahajan’s family members have raised doubts over Junaid’s version of events. His maternal uncle alleged, “At around 11 AM, I got a call from his friend that he had died in his sleep. When I reached Junaid’s house, the door was still locked from the inside. How could he say that my nephew had died without even entering the room?”
Police from Kalain Outpost reached the spot soon after being informed, recovered the body, and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the family has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the young man’s mysterious death.
