Pangram Blast Tragedy! 3 Dead as Massive Explosion Tears Through Factory

At least three workers were killed and several others injured after a powerful explosion at a rod manufacturing factory in Pangram under Udharbond in Assam’s Cachar district on Sunday (July 26). The blast occurred while work was in progress inside the factory, triggering panic and chaos in the area.

According to initial information, the explosion is suspected to have been caused by the blast of an LPG cylinder inside the factory. Rescue efforts began immediately after the incident, and the bodies of three workers have so far been recovered. Several injured workers have been shifted for treatment. The exact number of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed.

The incident has sparked tension outside the factory, where hundreds of local residents and workers gathered in protest. Angry protesters blocked the factory’s main gate and initially prevented police from taking away the bodies. Another labourer claimed that his brother was trapped inside the factory and said he had been stopped from entering.

A protesting worker alleged that fatal accidents had occurred repeatedly at the factory and claimed that “four to five people die every month”, with such incidents allegedly being kept hidden from the public. The worker made the allegation while demanding accountability after Sunday’s blast.
