Silchar to Guwahati Trains Cancelled, Several Services Rescheduled

Train services on the Lumding to Badarpur hill section have been disrupted after settlement of railway tracks near New Harangajao station, forcing the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway to cancel, reschedule and regulate several passenger trains operating through the Barak Valley.

According to a press release issued by NF Railway on Saturday (July 25), the track settlement has affected both Line 1 and Line 2 near New Harangajao station. At present, all train movements are being operated through Line 3 under strict monitoring and enhanced safety measures.

As a precaution, the railway has suspended the movement of passenger carrying trains through the affected section during night hours from 7 pm to 5 am. During the daytime, trains are being allowed to pass through the section under regulated conditions and continuous monitoring to ensure passenger safety.

Railway authorities said engineering teams, railway personnel and heavy machinery have been deployed on a war footing to restore the affected track section at the earliest. Normal train operations are expected to resume once the restoration work is completed safely.

NF Railway has cancelled Train No. 15617 Guwahati to Dullabcherra Express scheduled to commence its journey on July 25, Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra to Guwahati Express on July 26, Train No. 15615 Guwahati to Silchar Express on July 25 and 26, and Train No. 15616 Silchar to Guwahati Express on July 26 and 27.

Several trains have also been rescheduled. Train No. 15650 Narangi to Agartala Express on July 25 and 26 will now depart at 10.30 pm. Train No. 15649 Agartala to Narangi Express on July 25 and 26 will depart at 11 pm. Train No. 15609 Guwahati to Sairang Express on July 25 and 26 will depart at 11.30 pm, while Train No. 15610 Sairang to Guwahati Express on the same dates will depart at 9.30 pm.

Train No. 15626 Agartala to Deoghar Express commencing its journey on July 25 has been rescheduled to depart at 11.30 pm. Train No. 15611 Rangiya to Silchar Express on July 25 and 26 will also depart at 11.30 pm. Train No. 15612 Silchar to Rangiya Express on July 25 and 26 has been rescheduled to depart at 5 am on July 26 and 27 respectively. Train No. 01666 Agartala to Rani Kamalapati Special commencing its journey on July 26 has also been rescheduled to depart at 11.30 pm.

In addition, Train No. 12503 SMVT Bengaluru to Agartala Express, which commenced its journey on July 24, will be regulated en route as operationally required.

NF Railway has advised passengers to check the latest train status before starting their journey, as restoration work is continuing on the affected hill section.
