Suspected Bangladeshi National Detained In Borkhola
Borkhola Police on Sunday night (January 18) detained a suspected Bangladeshi national after locals spotted an unfamiliar person roaming around the Dolu area. The detained individual reportedly told the locals there that he had come from Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
According to police sources, residents grew suspicious on seeing the man moving around aimlessly in Dolu and questioned him. During preliminary questioning, the individual reportedly stated that he was a resident of the Mymensingh district of Bangladesh.
Following the information, the Officer-in-Charge of Borkhola Police Station was alerted, after which a police team reached the spot and brought the man to the police station for further verification. However, police said they could not extract any concrete details from him during interrogation.
Based on his statements and behaviour, the police allegedly suspect him to be a Bangladeshi national, as he was reportedly unable to mention any place outside Bangladesh. The individual identified himself as Mohammad Rubel.
On Monday, Borkhola Police forwarded the detained person to the Border Branch for further action and verification.
