War on Drugs: Cachar Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs. 1 Crore from Silchar Hotel, Fatak Bazar
As part of their ongoing War on Drugs mission, Cachar Police conducted two successful operations and seized drugs worth around Rs. 1 crore. The operations led to the arrest of seven individuals and the recovery of suspected heroin weighing nearly 200 grams in total.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Subrata Sen, the first operation took place in the early hours of Tuesday (November 4), following trusted intelligence received the previous day. In this operation, police apprehended three individuals identified as Afjal Hussain Laskar, Kabir Ahmed Laskar and Roni Das from the Fatak Bazar area of Silchar. From them, 100 small files containing suspected heroin weighing 35 grams were seized, along with two mobile phones and some cash.
In another operation, the police caught four persons originally from Bihar, identified as Rahul Kumar, Chotu Kumar, Kamal Kumari and Shweta Kumari. They were hiding in the Sankari Hotel on Central Road, Silchar. Acting on intelligence, police raided the hotel and recovered 180 grams of suspected heroin from their possession.
ASP Sen said that all the arrested individuals have been booked, and the investigation is underway. He added that Cachar Police are determined to continue their drive against drugs until the district is free from this social menace.
It may be noted that Cachar Police frequently carry out such anti-drug operations. Only a few days ago, they had achieved success in two similar operations, and once again, they have managed to make significant progress in their mission.
