Free Fire Max Community Tournament To Be Held In Silchar On March 28
Silchar will host a grassroots Free Fire Max community tournament later this month, organised by the Garena through the Free Fire Max India Community initiative. The event is being held with the support of IndoBattles and Hailakandi Esports, marking the first such official community-backed competition in the town.
According to organisers, 24 teams will participate in the tournament. The competition will begin with online qualifiers, followed by an online knockout stage. From these rounds, 12 teams will advance to the Grand Final, which will be held offline at Bluechip Computer Education.
The tournament is being organised to promote and strengthen the gaming culture at the grassroots level while giving players from Barak Valley a platform to showcase their skills. The Indian government has started recognising gaming and esports as an emerging digital and sports sector, and several policies, schemes, and budget initiatives now support it. Through the initiative of Garena and its Free Fire Max India Community programme, the event aims to encourage local esports participation, identify emerging gaming talent, and provide teams from Silchar and nearby areas an opportunity to compete in a structured tournament format, with the possibility of gaining wider recognition at the national level.
The tournament will feature a prize pool of 10,000 in-game Diamonds from Garena, along with Rs. 5,000 in cash provided by the organisers. The Grand Final will be played in a Champion Rush format and will feature professional online and offline casting and production. Organisers said every match—from qualifiers to the final—will be live-streamed with high-quality production.
They added that the winning team will get an opportunity to be featured on the official platform and represent Barak Valley at the national level in India.
Registration is open from March 7 to March 13, while the tournament will take place on March 28. Interested teams can register by contacting +91 7637988723.
