2 from Tarapur, 8 from Katirail among 24 new COVID positive cases in Cachar

Cachar has reported 24 new COVID positive cases today so far. Contact tracing continued in the district and Supriya Nath (27) from Narsingpur, Jirighat’s Gautam Ghosh (40), Kalain’s Jishu Das (40) tested positive.

Eight individuals who came in contact with COVID 19 positive patients from the Katirail area tested positive on Saturday. They are: Sarup Choudhury (20), Debashish Choudhury (40), Shibashish Choudhury (48), Rinki Deb (33), Anima Choudhury (78), Sunarjit Chakraborty (59), Dulu Deb (57), Prova Deb (76).

The number of patients with influenza-like illness continues to grow in Cachar and that is worrying the administration. In his media statement, media expert, District Health Services, Suman Choudhury said, “Yesterday as well as today a few patients tested positive with ILI and SARI symptoms. That has worried the administration. We appeal to all to remain aware and ensure they are following all the protocols.”

The patients with ILI symptoms who tested positive on Saturday are: National Highway BSNL Quarter’s Subhashis Roy Choudhury (50), Tarapur’s Debolina Sengupta (24), Rangirkhari’s Tapan Ghosh (55), Tarapur’s Gayatri Deb (18)

Apart from the contact tracing and ILI patients, there are a few inbound air passengers too who tested positive for COVID19. They are: from Delhi, Assam Rifles Tarapur’s Ravi Dutta Sharma (32), Sandeep Kumar (32), from Kolkata, Jirighat’s Abdul Salam Choudhury (24), from Bangalore, Katigorah’s Alim Uddin Laskar (40), from Jharkand, Lakhipur’s Md Sufiyan (34), from Hyderabad, Kalain’s Liton Ray (20), from Bangalore, Pailapool’s Sahotomba Uddin (19), Dudhpatil, Borkhola’s Sahid Hussain Laskar (20), from Noida, National Highway Road’s Sayan Bhuiya (22)
