Nothing poisonous found after Dr. Habib’s postmortem; “Intracerebral hemorrhage killed Silchar boy,” doctors
One of the most promising doctors, budding from Silchar, Dr. Habib Ahmed Barbhuiya lost his life yesterday. While on duty at Kalinagar PHC, the doctor started vomiting on December 29. Later at night, his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to Green Heals Hospital in the early morning of December 30.
The treating doctors at Green Heals Hospital put him under ventilation while at the stretcher, but there was no response. The doctors declared him brought dead around noon. Later the body was referred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. The administration of Silchar Medical College and Hospital kept the body at the morgue and scheduled the post mortem on December 31.
Meanwhile, Dr. Habib Ahmed Barbhuiya’s family members alleged that their son was poisoned and murder. The allegations were reported by most of the newspapers. The Police officials were also informed about the allegations.
Today the autopsy was conducted at SMCH and according to doctors close to the development, Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) was determined as the cause of death. The treating doctors at Green Heals Hospital also diagnosed that a brain stroke could have been the cause of death. However, they referred the body to SMCH for postmortem and said that only that can determine the cause of death.
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is caused by bleeding within the brain tissue itself — a life-threatening type of stroke. “It is an emotional moment for the family as they have lost their child and all our condolences are with them. The postmortem confirmed Intracerebral hemorrhage on the left side of the brain. At the same time, nothing poisonous was detected,” said a doctor close to the development.
Cachar Police, on the other hand, confirmed that no official complaint was lodged by the family at any Police Stations in Silchar. The police was informed by the SMCH authority as a part of the routine protocol.
