Class X, Class XII examinations postponed in Assam
The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has issued a notice announcing the postponement of the HS final examination.
The notice reads, “It is for information of all concerned that due to prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation the higher secondary final examination 2021 scheduled to be held from May 11, has been postponed until further order.”
Similarly, Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) has also issued a notice today announcing the postponement of final examination. In the notice, the board states, in view of the prevailing situation of COVID-19 in the state of Assam, it has been decided to postpone the HSLC/AHM examination 2021 scheduled to be held from 11 May 2021.”
The notice adds, “The revised schedule of the said examination shall be announced shortly after consultation with the Health Department – Government of Assam.
The students were demanding for postponement of the examination for a very long time. Himanta Biswa Sarma, had informed that a decision will be taken after the election results are declared. Today, the both the notices were made public by Himanta Biswa Sarma.
