Police caught a group of snatchers, trying to run away with cash

Seems like crime is once again on the rise in Silchar. Today, five serial offenders were caught red-handed from Tularam, Natun Bazar Sonai PS, when they were trying to snatch money from a senior citizen at an ATM counter at SBI branch.

The police has identified the criminals as Raju Uddin Laskar, Hilal Ahmed, Riyabul Hussain Laskar and Ajmol Ali Laskar Ali.
As per repors all five of them are Ujantarapur area, Lakhipur Cachar.

On further checking a total sum of Rs 20,000 was recovered from their possession.

 

 

If readers would remember, a month back, Doctor Shankar Bhattacharjee got tricked and lost about Rs 5 Lakh cash in a shocking event. He had withdrawn Rs 5 Lakh cash from State Bank of India, Silchar branch in the afternoon and had stopped by at the Red Cross Hospital for some work. A stranger had then gone to the car and asked the driver to hand him over a packet, stating that the Doctor asked for it The driver, unaware of what’s in the packet, handed it over to the stranger who then sat on a motorcycle and ran away.

With such snatchers on the go, it is advisable to stay safe.
