Cow theft attempt leads to mob violence at Sindura Tea Garden, Two alleged thieves in critical condition at SMCH
In a tense incident at Katigorah’s Sindura Tea Garden located in the Cachar district, two cow thieves were caught and beaten by an angry mob last night. The situation escalated quickly as the police arrived on the scene to rescue the thieves, leading to a mild lathi charge for dispersing the mob.
According to reports, four thieves had gone to the Sindura Tea Garden last night to steal a cow. However, the owner of the cow caught them in the act and raised an alarm, causing two of the thieves to flee. The remaining two thieves, identified as Hafizur Rahman and Sukkur Ali, were caught by the locals and beaten severely.
The police arrived at the scene and attempted to rescue the two thieves from the clutches of the angry mob. However, their intervention only enraged the locals further, and the police had to resort to a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd. After the crowd had been dispersed, the police managed to rescue the two thieves and took them into custody.
The two thieves were then taken to the Kalain Health Centre for treatment, but their injuries were deemed too severe for the facility. The doctors advised them to be shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. As of now, the two thieves are in critical condition and are being treated at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
