Cachar Police busts car lifting gang in the district, Arrests kingpin and recovers stolen vehicles

The Cachar Police has intensified their operation against bike and car lifters in the district. After receiving information about a gang stealing cars and selling them to neighbouring states, Cachar Police launched an operation and apprehended three persons involved in car lifting in the district. Two stolen cars were retrieved by the Police during the operation. 

It was revealed during the investigation that an inter state car lifting gang is involved in the incident. Cachar Police has established communication with the Police of neighbouring states to nab the other culprits who are part of the car lifting gang.

Speaking to reporters Cachar SP Numal Mahatta said, “The kingping of the car lifting gang named Tenglong Rongmei alias Bullet was arrested by the police. The car lifting in Cachar was going on under his leadership. He’s a resident of Shibpur Part II located in Lakhipur’s Rongmei Punjee. The other arrested gang members are Salman Hussain, a resident of Kangali Basti, Poilapool and Ahad Hussain Laskar alias Jakir, a resident of Sonabarighat. Our operation is ongoing.”
