Minister Pijush Hazarika commences three-day visit to Barak Valley, Addresses political and welfare matters
Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika arrived in Barak Valley today, embarking on a three-day visit to engage in various government programmes. Hazarika commenced his visit by participating in a programme held at the Police Parade Ground in Silchar, where he distributed Arunodoy 2.0 cards to 35,044 women beneficiaries, signifying the government’s commitment to empowering the people of Assam.
In response to a recent political remark by APCC President Bhupen Borah who said that beneficiary schemes can’t save BJP from defeat, Minister Hazarika defended the beneficiary schemes, expressing confidence in the transformative impact of initiatives like Arunoday in alleviating poverty. Hazarika stated that the Congress party’s distribution of yarn blankets and alleged corruption could not save its previous government, emphasising the distinct approach of the current administration in eradicating poverty.
In relation to a defamation case filed by the Minister against North Karimganj MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Hazarika clarified that the legal action was a response to false allegations made outside the Assembly by Dey Purkayastha, compelling him to pursue the legal recourse.
Commenting on the upcoming Assembly elections in five states, Hazarika projected that the BJP would form the government in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He also anticipated a coalition government in Mizoram. Furthermore, Hazarika criticised the Congress for taking action against minor leaders for participating in the Amrit Kaal Yatra while hesitating to act against biggies within the party.
Minister Pijush Hazarika’s visit to Barak Valley marks an important chapter in the region’s political landscape, with his engagement in welfare programmes and expression of political stances gaining local attention and interest.
