Armed bandits loot ex-armyman’s home in Cachar’s Katigorah

In a shocking incident, a violent robbery occurred in the quiet village of Kortipar, located in Katigorah, Cachar. A gang of seven armed robbers struck fear as they targeted the residence of ex-armyman Kajal Sen. The brazen criminals made away with a substantial haul, including 80,000 rupees in cash, precious gold ornaments and three mobile phones.

The audacious attack unfolded at 12:30 am as the assailants forcibly entered the Sen family’s home. Under the cover of black masks and armed with guns, they broke into the house by breaking the lock on the grill, leaving the family in a state of terror. Mr. Kajal Sen, the ex-armyman, was bound and covered with a bedsheet, while the rest of his family members were herded into the same room.

The ordeal continued for approximately two harrowing hours as the robbers ransacked the household, leaving behind a scene of chaos and fear. Adding to the distress, it was reported that the criminals were proficient in both Hindi and Bengali languages.

The severity of the situation escalated when the robbers threatened dire consequences if the incident was reported to the police. However, in a courageous act of resilience, Kajal Sen decided to contact the Katigorah Police Station on Saturday morning. Law enforcement authorities wasted no time in launching an investigation into this heinous crime, and an ongoing operation is now underway to track down and bring the perpetrators to justice.
