Silchar Observes Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi With Grand Procession
The birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad is being celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in Silchar on Friday (September 5), along with the rest of the world, as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.
Marking the holy day, the Cachar Juloos-e-Mohammadi Committee organised a grand procession, which began from Silchar Sonai Road and concluded at Sonai Dhonehori with a special prayer gathering. Hundreds of vehicles, tableaux and thousands of Muslim devotees, including men, women, and children dressed in traditional attire, participated in the procession. The day was marked with recitations of naat and ghazals in praise of the Prophet.
At the concluding ceremony in Dhonehori ground near the Eidgah, Islamic scholars from different parts of Barak Valley will offer prayers throughout the day for global peace and harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, organisers said, “Today we have taken out a peace rally on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, like every year, on behalf of the Central Juloos-e-Mohammadi committee of the district. At the Dhonehori ground adjacent to the Eidgah, a prayer for prosperity will be solemnised by Islamic scholars from various parts of the Barak Valley. Our message to the world today is that Islam is a religion of peace, and we want to move forward with the message of peace and unity with all other communities and tribes of Barak Valley and the entire state of Assam.”
The celebration in Silchar reflected the spirit of peace, unity, and devotion associated with Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.
