Silchar Spa Case Deepens: SMCH Principal, Wife Questioned for 4 Hours

The investigation into the alleged immoral activities at spas operating from Imperial Mall in Silchar has reached the doorstep of Silchar Medical College and Hospital Principal Dr Bhaskar Gupta. Cachar Police on Wednesday (July 1) questioned Dr Gupta and his wife for around four hours as part of the ongoing probe.

According to police sources, the couple was questioned at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Cachar, from around 4 pm to 8 pm. The questioning was carried out in connection with the investigation into the spa case.

Police had recently conducted raids at two spas operating from Imperial Mall after receiving allegations that prostitution was being run from the establishments. One of the spas is located in a building owned by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, following which he and his wife were summoned for questioning.

After the questioning, an unusual scene unfolded outside the Superintendent of Police’s office. As journalists waited outside, Dr Gupta and his wife covered their faces with cloth upon noticing the cameras. They then quickly got into their vehicle and left the premises without speaking to the media.

Police said the questioning was part of the ongoing investigation into the spa case. No further details have been officially disclosed, and the investigation is continuing.
