A woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband at a rented house in Das Colony, Silchar, in a shocking incident that has sparked concern across the town. The accused, identified as Mrityunjay Das, was arrested by police a few hours after the incident.

According to initial information, the victim, Champa Das, was allegedly killed following a prolonged family dispute. After the incident, the accused reportedly fled the house. Their 18 year old son later returned home, found his mother’s body and informed neighbours and relatives, who alerted the police.
