
NSS State Awards: Manoj Ghosh, Five Volunteers from Barak Valley to Be Honoured
Manoj Ghosh, NSS Programme Officer of Manmohan Ghosh Anil Das Memorial College, is set to receive the NSS State Award 2024–2025 from the Government of Assam in recognition of his contribution to community service, youth engagement and NSS activities. Five other NSS volunteers from Barak Valley are also set to receive the state-level award in the Volunteer category.
According to the information shared regarding the award, Ghosh is the first NSS Programme Officer from Barak Valley to receive the state-level honour. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 3, 2026, at 4 pm at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai, Guwahati.
Ghosh has been involved in various NSS programmes focused on social service, community outreach and youth participation. He also represented the NSS North East Region contingent at the Republic Day Parade Camp in 2025.
His recognition is being seen as an important achievement for NSS activities in Barak Valley, particularly for the work carried out by NSS units in promoting community involvement and social responsibility among young people.
Five NSS volunteers from Barak Valley are also set to receive state-level NSS awards this year. They are Hrishav Chakraborty of Assam University, Silchar; Sachin Ghosh of Srikishan Sarda College, Hailakandi; Pritam Acharjee of Assam University, Silchar; Tusar Das of Srikishan Sarda College, Hailakandi; and Bipraraj Deb of Srikishan Sarda College, Hailakandi.
The five volunteers are associated with different NSS units under Assam University and have participated in various community service and youth engagement activities.
The recognition of one Programme Officer and five volunteers from Barak Valley is being viewed as a notable achievement for the region and for NSS activities associated with Assam University.
The NSS State Award ceremony will take place on September 3 at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex, Sarusajai, Guwahati.
