Areas in 2nd Link Road declared as containment zones; parts of 1st link road in “Buffer Zone”

After 2nd Link Road resident, Biswajit Das tested positive yesterday, the district administration has demarcated the area as a containment zone.

An order issued by the office of the deputy commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli states, “It is felt to contain further spread of the virus in the surrounding area of House No. 26, Lane No 5, 2nd Link Road, Rangirkhari, PS Silchar is declared as Containment Zone, which must be immediately sealed.”

The area within the following geographical boundaries is immediately sealed.

North: Abul Kalam Azaad Road (2nd Link Road Main Road)
South: 3rd Link Road (Main Road)
East: Lane No. 6(A)
West: Lane No. 5

The following areas in Silchar Revenue Circle are also declared as “Buffer Zone”

North: 1st Link Road (across the 2nd Link Road Main)
South: 3rd Link Road (Main)
East: Lane No. 6 & 7
West: Lane No. 4 & 3

The order states that to implement the above instructions, the following restrictions are hereby imposed in the geographical area mentioned above:

1. Clear entry and exit points are to be established
2. No unauthorised entry and exit of the residents in the contained area will be allowed.
3. Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited.
4. No movement is to be allowed except for medical emergencies, essential goods and services.
5. No unchecked influx of population is to be allowed.
6. People transiting are to be recorded and followed through IDSP.
7. Stricter enforcement of all statutory directions regarding social distancing.
