Cachar DC: From lower primary to University level, all educational institutions to remain shut

In the backdrop of the spike in the number of coronavirus cases, the state government of Assam has issued a series of orders in order to contain the further spread of the deadly virus.

On Tuesday, in pursuance of an order issued by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Elementary/Secondary and Higher Education Department, Keerthi Jalli, in her capacity as the Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Cachar directed all Educational Institutions (both Government and Non-Government) from Pre-primary section to University level along with Hostels and Coaching Institutions to remain closed for a period of 15 days, i.e, up to May 12, 2021.

She further stated that online classes have to be made available for the students. This order will come into effect immediately.

It needs mention here that the Govt. order No. ASE.01/2020/Pt-V/4, Dated:27/04/2021 issued by Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Elementary/Secondary and Higher Education Department, Dispur authorized the Deputy Commissioners & Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to pass such closure orders as and when the total COVID-19 cases exceeds 300 in last 10 days.
