Double dose vaccine incentive in Assam; No tests required in airports and Railway Stations

The Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam has issued a new order with regards to the air and railway passengers travelling in to Assam. Earlier this year, the Government of Assam had made it compulsory to get tested for COVID at own cost in the airports across the State.

Yesterday, Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary to Government of Assam, Health And Family Welfare issued another order modifying the earlier one. The order he signed states, the government has observed vaccination drive is going on in the State of Assam with full swing at par with other states. Also the positivity rate has gone down “substantially” in the state of Assam, and other parts of the country.

“It is hereby ordered that people who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID vaccine, shall be exempted from mandatory testing on arrival at airports or railway stations in Assam from outside the state provided they produce a valid certificate depicting the fully vaccinated status of person with two doses of COVID vaccine.”

The department informed that this order comes into force with immediate effect.
