
MP Parimal Suklabaidya Distributes PM Vishwakarma Certificates to Beneficiaries in Silchar
A certificate distribution programme under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma (PM Vishwakarma) Scheme was held yesterday (July 15) at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Commissioner, Cachar. The certificates were distributed by Silchar Lok Sabha MP Parimal Suklabaidya, who attended the programme as the chief guest.
Organised by the District Administration, Cachar, the programme witnessed the distribution of certificates to 40 beneficiaries who successfully completed their training under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. A total of 110 beneficiaries across Cachar have been certified under the scheme, of whom 40 received their certificates during today’s ceremony.
The programme was attended by District Commissioner, Cachar, Rahul Kumar Gupta, IAS; District Development Commissioner Rajib Roy; officials of the District Administration; Arnab Chakraborty; Subir Sinha; representatives of the MSME Department; and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, MP Parimal Suklabaidya spoke about the importance of creating a skilled and self-reliant workforce to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy. He said that, according to the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims to empower traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing skill development, financial assistance for toolkits, and collateral-free loans at subsidised interest rates.
“In today’s highly competitive world, India needs a workforce that is not only skilled but also self-reliant. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme provides a unique opportunity for our artisans and craftspeople to upgrade their skills, strengthen their livelihoods, and build a brighter future through financial support, toolkit incentives, and concessional loans,” he said.
The programme marked the successful completion of training by the beneficiaries, who were awarded certificates in recognition of the skills they acquired during the training period.
District Commissioner, Cachar, Rahul Kumar Gupta, IAS, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for their continued support in implementing the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the district.
The programme concluded with the newly certified beneficiaries expressing confidence and enthusiasm about using their newly acquired skills for self-employment and entrepreneurship. According to the organisers, the implementation of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the district is intended to contribute towards the goal of building a skilled and self-reliant workforce.
