11-year-old minor girl raped by 58-year-old man in Cachar, accused arrested by Police

A eleven year old  girl was raped by a 58-year-old man at  in Cachar district. The heinous act was perpetrated by an elderly man named Pradeep Dutta, when no one was at home. As per the accusation, the parents of the minor victim, they went to a relative’s house for attending a function. Taking advantage of the situation, Pradeep Dutta entered their house on the pretext of drinking water. Grabbing the opportunity, he raped the minor girl who was alone at home. As the girl screamed and cried, Dutta fled from the scene. After the incident, the minor apprised her parents of the situation.

The victim’s parents took the girl to  Police Outpost and lodged an FIR against Pradeep Dutta accusing him of rape. After the case was registered, police arrested him. The incident has caused a sensation in that area.

The rapist was identified as an employee of Masimpur Army Canteen. After the arrest of the elderly man, the villagers protested in front of the police station demanding his death penalty.

Speaking to reporters the girl’s mother said, “Today morning I went to attend a function in a relative’s house. I tied the gate with a rope before venturing out.  Pradeep Dutta came to my house and asked my daughter where I was. She replied that I was not at home. He asked for a glass of water from my daughter. My daughter gave him the glass of water but he didn’t drink, instead he kept the glass on the table. After that, he dragged my daughter to the bed and undressed her.”

She added, “My daughter screamed and cried and told him to let her go but he didn’t. Somehow my daughter managed to escape from his clutches and came to our relative’s house informing us about the incident. That is when I saw Pradeep Dutta running away from our house. As she didn’t tell us exactly what Dutta did to her so we didn’t catch him. Later, she told us the details of the incident.”
