In a tragic turn of affairs, one died on the spot while two others got critically injured. At around 2:30 pm today afternoon two motorcycles met with a head-on collision at Abdullapur area in Hailakandi. Bittu Dusad, 18-year-old boy was riding one of the two motorcycles and had 19-year-old Rakesh Shah seated behind him. Both of them are residents of Koiya Tea Estate located in Hailkandi’s Lala area. Bittu Dusad lost his life on the spot while Rakesh Shah along with Sushil Das (50) who was riding the other motorcycle are currently being treated in Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
Locals residing near the road in Abdullahpur area heard a weird noise and immediately rushed to the spot. An eyewitness states, “When we went there we understood that two bikes met with a head-on collision. Three were lying on the road bleeding, all three of them were taken to a nearby hospital where Bittu Dusad was declared brought dead while the other two were referred to SMCH.”
According to the eyewitnesses, Bittu Dusad and Rakesh Shah were traveling back to their home from Lala town while Das was headed in the opposite direction. Dusad and Shah had borrowed the motorcycle from a neighbour to ride to the town.
Police officials too reached the spot and later sent Dusad’s body to SK Roy Civil hospital for post mortem.
