
2 from Karimganj, 1 each from Hailakandi and Cachar have been arrested for posting in support of Taliban
14 individuals have been arrested so far in Assam “for posting adverse/objectionable posts supporting Taliban”. Among them, four are from Barak Valley.
Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur confirmed that Jawed Mazumder son of Jalaluddin Mazumder and resident of Nagdir Gram part IV area under Sonai Police Station has been arrested last night for an objectionable post related to the Taliban taking over Afghanistan.
Gourav Upadhyay, superintendent of Police too confirmed that a resident of the Hailakandi town area has been arrested today morning. His residence is under the jurisdiction of Hailakandi Sadar Police Station. As per the list, Nadim Akhtar, resident of Hailakandi area is 23-year-old.
Padmanabh Baruah, superintendent of Police, Karimganj said that they have arrested Mujib Uddin from the Ratabari area. From Karimganj, another individual has been listed for making objectionable posts supporting the Taliban. His name is Mortuza Hussian Khan. There is confusion if Khan is a resident of Hailakandi or Karimganj.
