26 COVID positive cases in Cachar; Former MP, people without travel history among many others

Officials in the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) informed that 26 individuals from Cachar tested positive today. Among them, one happened to be the president of Mahila Congress and former Silchar MP, Sushmita Dev. She was in the list of people who came in contact with the director of Green Heals Hospital, Rudra Narayan Gupta.

Apart from her the individuals from SSB – Katigorah who tested positive are: Ranjit Meena (28), Sonu (31), Bikram Prasad (29), Anil Kumar Verma (33), P Khaokhaim (33), K K Basumatary (39), Vikash Narzari (29), Kuldeep Chand (55), Gaurango Roy (37), Ramesh Singh Yadav (27), Sandeep Kumar (30), Rohit Kumar (30), Shiv Pujan Kumar (24)

COVID positive cases continued to be detected in Green Heals Hospital of Cachar. Lakkhi Singh (25), Juthika Paul (53) associated with the hospital tested positive.

From Kalibari Char area, Promita Bala Das (27) was found infected by the virus that caused a pandemic in the country.

Tested after contact tracing, Bekirpar – Part V, Cachar’s Debendra Sinha (65), Kolaboti Sinha (63), Sundari 2, Cachar Reba Rani Nath found carrying the infection.

Rongpur resident, 61-year-old, Supriti Paul had tested positive a week back. She did not have any travel history. Following days, her family members also tested positive. Today, her son’s colleague and his family members Central Road’s, Kabita Paul (70), Shyamlal Ch Paul, (72), Dipta Saha Paul (38), Suranjan Paul (11), Somnath Paul (48), Chinu Das (61) diagnosed infected by coronavirus.
