3-year-old kid stabbed to death in Cachar; Locals set ablaze murder’s house

In a bizarre turn of affairs, a three-year-old has been stabbed to death in Cachar district’s Dholai area. The incident took place today at around 4:00 pm in Shyamacharanpur village under Dholai Police Station.

Daughter of Salman Uddin Laskar and Hafsana Begum Laskar was on the lap of her mother at their own residence when Kamal Uddin Laskar walked into their house with a sword. Before they could realise what’s happening, Kamal Uddin picked up the sword and attacked the kid. The mother shouted loudly, and Salman Uddin Laskar rushed out to see what happened. To his dismay, he saw his daughter bleeding heavily.

Seeing Salman Uddin in shock, assailant Kamal tried to escape from the crime scene. Locals caught him, at the same time, the three-year-old kid was rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

On the other hand, the locals tied Kamal Uddin with a rope and informed the Police. They also went and set Kamal Uddin’s house on fire.

As per available information, Kamal Uddin is a resident of Kamalpur village. Few years back, he stabbed a sixty something woman to death. After that, he was arrested by the Police officials and when he returned after serving his term, his family members refused to accept him in the house. Since then, he has been living in a hut near the drain in Shyamacharanpur village. Locals have also said that he is a psychiatric patient and often got involved in activities that weren’t normal.
