7-year-old, tipper driver die in a landslide; locals blame contractor, more feared to be stuck under
In a shocking turn of affairs, two people lost their lives at an excavation site. The incident took place in Karimganj’s Fatehpur area. In order to build roads, the contractors were excavating a hillock. However, as per locals, the procedure followed by the contractor had many flaws in it.
Yesterday, when the excavator was in action at the site, a severe landslide took place and an entire tipper came under the debris. The tipper driver and 7-year-old who was playing around died on the spot. The excavator driver also got injured and is now admitted in the hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
The tipper driver has been identified as Abdullah Hussain while the kid Russail Ahmed is a local resident. The eyewitnesses say that there is a possibility of more people being stuck under the debris. SDRF jawans rushed to the spot to rescue if anyone is still stranded.
On the other hand, the irked locals mobbed Raju Ahmed who is in charge of the excavation. He has been admitted in the hospital and his condition is also said to be critical.
The shocking incident left the area in a state of mourning.
