9 Indian Army, 1 Indian Air Force, residents of Shivalik Park, Ambicapatty among 17 COVID positive cases in Cachar   

Officials in Silchar Medical College and Hospital and Cachar Administration informed that 17 new COVID cases have been diagnosed in Cachar today.

Suman Choudhury, Media Expert, Cachar District informed that out of the 17 new COVID positive cases in the district, 9 are Indian Army officials who will now be treated at the Army Hospital in Masimpur.

One Indian Air Force official who also tested positive today will join them at the Army Hospital.

Remaining seven newly tested COVID positive patients will be treated in Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Out of them, Purnima Biswas a 65-year-old resident of Shivalik Park and Abhrup Sharma Pathak a 25-year-old Ambikapatty resident were at-home quarantine.

Choudhury informed that Purnima Biswas has been shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital and her husband will be placed under quarantine at one of the hotels in Silchar.

The remaining patients are Ahad Hussain (23) Rukni, Jiaur Rohman Barbhuiya (21) Nutun Ramnagar, Kolim Uddin (19) Katigorah, T Bidyadhan Singha, Kumbirgram, Chandra Adhikari (29) Durgapally Silchar.
