"Even if the lockdown gets lifted on May 3, certain restrictions will be there for at least next six weeks": Rajdeep Roy

The country is counting days to May 3, 2020, for the Lockdown 2.0 to conclude. However, there are several parts of the country where the numbers are rising rapidly. Maharashtra, Gujarat among many other states are still witnessing a significant spike in the number of COVID19 positive cases. Amidst such circumstances will the lockdown get further extended? There are plenty of rumours doing rounds all around the country.

Yesterday, while attending an event, Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy said, “Even if the lockdown gets lifted on May 3, 2020, certain restrictions will be there for at least the next six weeks. We should not expect things to go back to what it was before the pandemic immediately after the lockdown.”

He also made it clear, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have the final word and he will certainly update the nation about the same when the time is right.”

Recently, BJP legislators had a video conference with party president JP Nadda and national general secretary, Ram Madhav where they discussed post lockdown.

Silchar MP added that the residents of the country have made it proud by following the lockdown protocols, “Other countries are now taking Indians as an example and at the same time, congratulating us for our efforts. However, the menace of Corona is still there and so, going forward, we shall remain prepared for certain restrictions,” he added.

While Roy gave a hint of what lies ahead, he reiterated that the official communication will come from the Prime Minister of India and those will be the final words.
