Administration has not received any order declaring Cachar as Orange Zone; "It's still Green," says official
While the Aarogya Setu app has changed the color of Cachar from Green to Orange as a highly placed official in the Cachar district administration said that they have not received any letter in this regard. The zones are decided by the Ministry Of Health, Government of India and as per the official, they have not received any communication in this regard.
The official explained, “All the cases in Cachar have a travel history and we have identified them early which reduces the possibility of transmission. So, there is a very little chance that Cachar will be transitioned to Orange zone again.”
The senior official in the administration assured that there is no reason to panic, “Do not relate our situation with Guwahati. In Cachar, we know that the COVID positive patients have come on a bus and so it is an enclosed environment whereas, in Guwahati, we are unable to identify the source. There is no reason to panic as the situation is completely under control.” said the official.
He refused to comment on the confusion created by the Aarogya Setu app which shows Cachar as Orange. He said, “Look, I don’t know the artificial intelligence that has been used to program the app. Maybe because there is a sudden-steep rise in the number of cases it has identified Cachar as Orange. But for us in the administration, it is still Green and will remain Green unless we get an official order which we have not received yet,” added the official.
