Defending champions Triveni’s easy win in the opening match of Super Division, defeated Oasis by 72 runs

It was an easy win for the defending champions Triveni Club in the opening match of the Super Division Cricket League. The defending champions beat Club Oasis by 72 runs in the Super Division opener on Saturday.

Triveni won the toss and decided to bat first at the match held at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium this morning. A good start from the two openers Abhitab Paul and Krishnendu Das surely gave the Trivenis a defending push. The openers made 65 in 7.4 overs. However, Tribeni lost the rhythm after Krishnandu was bowled with 33 runs. Since then they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, right-handed opener Abhitab batted well from one side.

Abhitab played a half-century innings of 53 runs off 76 balls. Besides, Sadiq Imran Chowdhury made a significant contribution of 23 runs in the middle order. In the lower order, Nihar Paul scored 14 and Chiranjeev Dey added 12 runs. An additional 36 were in Triveni’s account.

In the bowling line, Rajesh Nath and Sahil Pandey took three wickets each. Shaidul Baralskar and Banodeep Chakraborty got two wickets each. Club Oasis kept losing wickets at regular intervals from the start of chasing runs. At one time they lost 6 wickets for 58 runs and fell under great pressure. This pressure was not to be overcome.

Finally, Club Oasis was bowled out for 112 runs in 23.1 overs. Tapas Das 37, Rajesh Nath 19 and Vinay Krishna Saha 12 contributed significantly. Shivam Ahmed Lashkar took four wickets. Besides, Chandradeep Das and Chiranjeev Dey took two wickets each. Shivam Ahmed Lashkar was declared the Man of the Match.
