Karimganj Police intercepts drugs worth rupees 5 crores from scrap carrying truck; vehicle came from Mizoram informs Additional SP Partha Protim Das
Karimganj Police has successfully recovered yet another huge consignment of narcotic substances. On Monday morning, a team led by Additional SP Partha Protim Das recovered heroin worth rupees 5 crores along with hard cash from the Kadamtala area under Ramkrishna Nagar Police Station. Three individuals were also arrested in this connection by the police.
Additional SP of Karimganj, IPS Partha Protim Das informed Barak Bulletin about this huge drug recovery. As per the information received, based on specific inputs, the police launched an operation at the Kadamatala area of Ramkrishna Nagar. During the operation, the police team led by the IPS officer intercepted a truck carrying iron scraps. Upon search procedure, the police team found 55 soap cases, all filled with suspected heroin.
IPS Parth Protim Das said, “Our team launched an ops against drugs at Kadamtala area under RK Nagar Police Station and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no AS- 10AC-6373 which was carrying scrap from Mizoram. The said vehicle was thoroughly searched and recovered 55 nos of soap cases containing suspected heroin total weight of 739.01 grams. The recovered suspected drugs were kept concealed inside the loaded scrap”. 1.9 lakh rupees cash has also been found in their possession by the police.
The three-person arrested in this connection is from Khagail area of Nilambazar, they are Abdul Hasid, Juber Ahmed and Jamir Uddin. The police seized the narcotic substance along with the cash and the vehicle. The investigation is on this matter, as informed by the police.
