Art for Hope: Silchar's Payal Goswami, Binoy Paul in Hyundai's list of winners; To receive grant of Rs 1 lakh each

Automobile giant, Hyundai’s one-of-its-kind project was inspired by the car manufacturer’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’. The art for hope program aims to revive traditional art and create awareness among youth. The program endeavors to showcase India’s rich art, craft, and culture while helping elevate the lives of artisans and craftspersons.

After a successful edition in 2022, Hyundai called for submission for the 2023 edition. Out of more than 200 applicants from across the country, 35 have been shortlisted to provide a grant of Rs 1 lakh each. This grant will empower the applicant to execute the concept submitted by them.

The august list of top 35, features two applicants from Silchar. Payal Goswami bagged a berth in the top 35 for her submission, “Threads and colors of life”. “My project is based on the skill development program where I am introducing the techniques of ‘Tie and Dye’ and ‘Block Printing’ to women which can empower them to become independent,” she wrote on Facebook expressing her joyous gratitude.

 

She has also shared the letter she received from Hyundai which states, “Congratulations and warm greetings from Hyundai Motor India Ltd. We are pleased to inform you that you have been shortlisted for Art for Hope Grant 2023 ranking amongst the top 35 from over 200+ applicants!”

 

It adds, “As a winner, Hyundai Motor India Foundation, will support you with a grant of R$ 100000, to execute the art project submitted by you. We are sure that this collaboration will not just provide a platform to showcase your talent, but will serve as a springboard for many opportunities in the future. Wishing you the very best for an outstanding project.”

Binoy Paul is the other applicant from Silchar to have found a spot in the list of winners. He will also receive a grant of Rs 1 lakh from Hyundai Motors. His project is titled ‘New Horizon’ and his submission is in the Visual Art category.
