"B. Ed 1st Semester Examination has been deferred": Assam University Silchar notifies
Suprabir Dutta Roy, Controller of Examination, Assam University Silchar, has issued a notification. The notification states, “It is hereby notified for information to all concerned that B.Ed Ist Semester Examination notified Vide AUE/Program/BEd/LLB/2013/117 dated 10/01/2023 has been deferred until further order. The date of commencement of the said examination will be notified in due course of time. This issued with the approval of the competent authority.”
This comes after the Students’ Union has decided to meet at the Mukta Mancha on Monday to address the various confusions regarding the dates of the examination. While there are specific concerns regarding examinations of various courses, with regards to B. Ed, it is about the time made available to prepare for the professional course.
Pallab Dey, Assam University, Silchar, Department of Law, mentioned, “B. Ed examinations of different colleges are going to start from 25th March. The students of different colleges have contacted me saying that this is a professional course and every single mark matters for them in the run-up to TET. They did not get adequate time to prepare for the exam to be held a week from now.”
He also summarised that various students sensed the possibilities of postponement of the scheduled examinations and added, “If the exam gets deferred then Bihu and Eid festivities shall be taken into account as many students will have to go home. That way, the examination can be started on or after April 25 and can be concluded on or before May 10, post which the final semester classes will have to start immediately. Following this course, the next semester examinations can be over by August. The students will get adequate time for preparation for the final end-semester examination during the vacations.”
Now, how Assam University Silchar plans the revised schedule of examination is something that remains to be seem.
