“BJP will secure double figure in Barak Valley,” MP Rajdeep Roy after casting his vote
Member of Parliament, Dr. Rajdeep Roy has cast his vote today morning at around 9:00 am. He walked along with his mother and brother to Radhamadhab Girls School at Lochan Bairagi Road in Silchar.
The Silchar MP who was also at heart of BJP’s entire election campaign in Barak Valley said, “We are certain that BJP will secure double figure in Barak Valley. In Cachar, BJP will win all the seven constituencies,” said Dr. Rajdeep Roy. It is worth mentioning here that there are 15 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Barak Valley.
About Silchar Legislative Assembly Constituency, Roy said that electors will vote in favour of BJP candidate, Dipayan Chakraborty and he will win with a huge margin. After casting his vote he said, “Dilip Paul is no factor at all and people will get to know that on counting day – May 2, 2021.”
He also said that it is an emotional moment for him as this is for the first time he is voting as a member of parliament.
“Even in the 2019 general elections to Lok Sabha, there was an under the table alliance between Congress and AIUDF. The latter did not field a candidate and Sushmita Dev was backed by them. Yet, I won the election against Sushmita Dev by a margin of more than 85,000 votes. This time, the unholy alliance is over the table and people are aware of their motive and true colours. There is no competition in Barak Valley,” asserted Rajdeep Roy.
It is pouring cats and dogs in Silchar and the turnout is abysmal at almost all the poling stations. “Yes, the weather is challenging but I can see smiling faces around me and have a sense that the enthusiasm is huge among people. Expecting more than 78% turnout,” he concluded.
