BSF Jawan dies in a road mishap in Hailakandi

It was his holiday, he was on his way to his uncle’s house, he was only 26 and he is no more. Young Abhinash Lakhirai, a BSF Jawan  met with an unfortunate and fatal accident today on his way to his uncle’s house. He was riding his motorbike on National Highway 154 in Hailakandi’s Lokkhirbond area, when he met with the accident which took his life.

Abhinash is a resident of neighbouring state Meghalaya’s Dauki area. He was deployed in a BSF battelion in Kolkata and had come home during his vacation. Today morning, he left his home to visit his uncle in Karimganj district’s Durlabcherra area. As per locals, in Hailakandi’s Lokkhibomd bypass, his motorbike collided headon with a truck coming from the other side. The impact threw him off his bike and he lost his consciousness. Police officials immediately rushed to the spot and traffic incharge Sanjay Dey escorted the wounded Jawan to SK Roy Hospital in Hailakandi. The doctors there declared him dead after initial check-up.

The Police officials then informed the Jawan’s family members about the brutal incident. His death has left Hailakandi district in a state of shock.
