The injured man has been identified as Imran Hussain Tapadar, a local resident. He is currently undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), where his condition is reported to be critical.

According to allegations made by family members and local residents, Imran was returning home from a market when a group of individuals stopped him on the road. The group allegedly accused him of being a Bangladeshi citizen and then assaulted him.
