Child Protection Unit seeks help to find Renuka Begum's parents

Cachar District Child Protection Unit is looking for help to trace the parents of a 10-year-old girl, who was recovered from the Link road area around 2 months back.

Speaking to Barak Bulletin, a District Child Protection Officer said the child, who introduced herself as Renuka Begum, was found alone in Link Road around 2 months ago but her parents could not be traced yet, despite many attempts.

“The child said she lives with her mother as a tenant somewhere here. We conducted several investigations on our level but could not find them. We have also launched a police complaint” the officer said adding finally they have decided to take help of media hoping anyone who knows her will come forward and get the child to unite with parents.

So, anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts is asked to contact nearby Police station or the District Child Protection Office immediately.
