Clash breaks between communities in Kalibari Char area after boy was stabbed during a night cricket match

Breaking news coming in from Silchar’s Kalibari Char area. Tonight at around 10:00 pm at the sidelines of a Night Tournament match organised by Titans Club at the playground of Cachar Sporting, a boy was allegedly stabbed by miscreants. He has been identified as Subhash Das and has been rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

“His condition is serious and we don’t know if he will survive the attack. Everything was going fine  and the match was played between the two teams cordially when a member of their club (Titans) attacked Das with a knife,” said a resident who claimed to be an eyewitness.

“The cricket match was just an excuse, in reality they wanted to launch a physical attack on a particular community of people. They were also carrying weapons like dao, ballam,” added the resident, blaming the other community.

Additional superintendent of police, Crime, Dr. Kalyan Das rushed to the spot within minutes and with the help of CRPF deployment, brought the situation under control.

One rider of the Cachar Police got injured as the two parties started pelting stones on each other. Though the Police have brought the situation under control, it remains tensed.
