Club Oasis secures first victory in Assam Premier Club Championship after defeating Eleven Star

Club Oasis beat Eleven Star Club in Assam Cricket Association’s Premier Club Championship on Thursday. Organized by Silchar District Sports Association (DSA), Oasis club won by 5 wickets at the Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar.

Club Eleven Star decided to bat first after winning the toss in the morning. However, they were all out for only 183 in 34.5 overs. Most of their batsmen started well but failed to score big. Even after being set, they’d eventually throw away their wickets, this restricting them.

Shahid Laskar scored 32 runs, highest for the team. Besides, Shahin Lashkar (30), Aryan Barbhuiya (24), Nishant Dhakuria (21) and Nasim Uddin (18) also scored notable runs. Extras came 16 runs. Parikshit Banik and Debajyoti Paul took 3 wickets each.

In reply, Club Oasis reached the target at the expense of five wickets in 25.2 overs. Suraj Yadav scored a scintillating half-century, with the left-arm opener fetching 54 runs. Besides, Dibakar Goala also came out with a fine fifty, scoring 56. Arijit Mahapatra and Dipankar Das scored 22 and 18 respectively. 20 runs were scored from Extras. Chiranjib Dey from the opposition team took 2 wickets.

Notably, with this win, Club Oasis has seen their first win in the tournament. On the other hand, Club Eleven Star is yet to conquer their losing streak.
